      Urinary tract infection
     
    Urinary tract infections are common in children. They may present with fever, abdominal pain, pain passing urine or vomiting. In younger children, certainly those under the age of five, urinary tract infections are taken more seriously because it is known that kidney damage caused by urinary tract infections early on in life are a significant cause of long-term kidney damage and failure.
